In 2010, Brisbane will be the venue for the Silver Jubilee XXV IMPC where you will hear the very best ideas from researchers and industry dealing with the big issues and problems that we are facing now and in the future, i.e., energy, water and environmental.
The Theme of IMPC 2010 is “Smarter Processing for the Future” and will feature the best in leading edge research and development.
IMPC 2010 will broadly encompass the following areas:

Sustainability and energy utilisation
Water recycling and frugal water use
Waste management
In situ processing
Underground processing
Plant design and new equipment
Comminution and physical separation
Flotation
Aqueous processing
Bioprocessing
Agglomeration
Extractive metallurgy
Mineral characterisation and in situ analysis
Health, Safety and Environment
Modelling and process simulation
Minerals industry education
These areas are subject to change in keeping with promising developments in mineral processing. The submission of cutting edge papers in other emerging areas is encouraged and will be viewed favourably in finalising the program.
Contributions in these areas from practicing Metallurgists and Engineers are particularly welcomed.
General Information
Location:
Long heralded as the Sunshine State – a land of long expanses of sandy white beaches, flame red outback sunsets, rainforests and reefs – Queensland is now delivering a new vision as Australia’s Smart State. Nestled in the south-east corner of Queensland in the heart of the country’s fastest growing region, Brisbane is a young city with a population of around 1.8 million. It is a progressive city with the Brisbane River winding through it and a city that speaks to both head and heart.
Venue
IMPC 2010 will be held at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre. This excellent state-of-the-art venue is in the attractive South Bank cultural and entertainment precinct. A world-class facility with expertise in catering for high profile and international events, the Centre was recently ranked top among the world’s convention centres. The venue is well situated in relation to accommodation, shops, restaurants and transport.
